Good to know.
Do I need to download an app?
No. Newton’s Notes runs in your web browser on phone, tablet or computer. You can add it to your home screen if you like, but there’s nothing to install and no in-app purchases.
What’s in the free trial?
Three days with all of Chapter 1 (every section and the chapter review), calculator keystrokes, the readiness check-up and 10 Ask Newton questions. The other 17 chapters, timed practice exams and the custom test builder come with a pass.
What happens when my free trial ends?
Nothing, unless you choose a plan. We don’t ask for a card to start, so we can’t charge you by surprise. Your progress is saved if you come back.
Do plans renew automatically?
No. You buy 1, 3 or 6 months of access. When it ends, you can add more time or simply stop.
What happens when my pass ends?
Nothing is charged. We email you a few days before it ends in case you want more time (extra time stacks on top of the days you have left). When it ends, your account goes back to the free preview, and your progress, streaks and mistake log stay saved for whenever you come back. Book PDFs you own stay under My books.
What’s the difference between Basic and Pro?
Both unlock every subject and problem. Pro adds Ask Newton, the AI tutor that re-explains any problem a different way, the custom test builder (pick the chapters and sections you want and get a fresh test every time), calculator keystrokes and full-length timed practice exams.
Is this official NCEES material?
No. Every problem is original. Solutions point you to the free NCEES FE Reference Handbook so you practice with the equations you’ll have on exam day.
Is there a student discount?
Student pricing runs from time to time as a limited-time promotion. While it’s on, an “I’m a student” switch appears under Pricing: turn it on and verify your school-issued email (.edu, .ac.uk and similar) with a 6-digit code. The student price applies to any pass you buy while the offer is running.
Can I share my account or screenshots with a friend?
No. Each account is for one person. Course pages carry a watermark with your email and a session code, and sharing problems or screenshots ends access. Your friend can start their own free trial.
How often are new problems added?
Every week. The bank holds 400+ problems across all 18 chapters plus a 110-question practice exam, and new problems are added every week.
Civil or Electrical?
FE Mechanical and FE Civil are both open in the study desk. Pick your exam on the homepage; each pass covers one exam, at the same prices. The Civil Review Guide and Practice Problems books are in the works. Electrical is planned after Civil.
