Privacy Policy

This policy explains what newtonsnotes.com collects and why. Short version: we collect what we need to run your account and improve the course, we don’t sell it, and you can ask us to delete it.

What we collect

• Account: your email, a hashed password, and the name you give us. Student verification uses your school email.
• Study data: which problems you answered, scores, streaks and progress, so your study desk remembers where you are.
• Ask Newton and the help chat: the problem or question you send is processed by our AI provider (Anthropic) to produce an answer. We log that a question was asked, when, and by which account, so we can apply usage limits. The text of help-chat messages is not stored by us.
• Purchases: payment is handled by our payment processor; we see what you bought and when, not your card number.
• Technical: standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) kept by our hosting provider (Cloudflare) and database provider (Supabase) for security and reliability.

What we don’t do

We don’t sell or rent your data, run advertising networks, or track you across other websites.

Who processes data for us

Supabase (accounts and study data, servers in the United States), Cloudflare (hosting), Anthropic (AI answers), and our payment and email providers. Each only receives what it needs for its job.

Emails

We send account emails (confirmation, password reset, receipts). We’ll only send news or offers if you opt in, and every such email has an unsubscribe link.

Cookies and storage

We use your browser’s local storage to keep you logged in. We don’t use third-party advertising cookies.

Your choices

Email us to see, correct or delete your data, or to close your account. We’ll respond within 30 days. Deleting your account removes your study data; we may keep purchase records as required by tax law.

Children

The Site is for people 16 and older. We don’t knowingly collect data from children under 13.

Changes

We’ll post any changes here with a new effective date.
